Day Uno~

Welcome to the blog of my first summer “off”…I have tons of things I want to get accomplished…a few thing I need to get accomplished….and 3 I must get accomplished…
THE  3…
1.  Work on my tan
2.  Get myself ready to run the Peachtree and hopefully a half marathon later this year
3.  Plan for forensics next year
So here is how my first day went…successful…you be the judge…
Given that I knew I would be able to sleep in this morning and I am trying to wean myself off my OTC sleeping medication, I decided to stay up late last night….well at 8:15 this morning my sleeping in was rudely interrupted by my husband saying they could take the dog at the groomers if I took him now.  If you know me you know I am not a morning person and to have to get up and function that quickly on little sleep was asking a whole lot.  The cat started screaming at me and I was so out of it I called him a dog.

So since I was up I began my day by taking the dog to the groomers.  I came home and put away the dishes, folded a load of laundry…sheets to be exact….after I watched a video to learn how to fold the fitted sheet…it took at minimum 10 times watching the video, pausing, and re-watching to get the first sheet folded.  Since practice makes perfect I pulled out all my sheets and correctly folded (as opposed to wadding that I had been doing) all my fitted sheets…which is a lot because my mom and mother-in-law have made sure I have multiple extras for those adult accidents (as the lady at bed bat and beyond educated us on when we were registering for our wedding).

Next on the list…clean and organize my fridge…I found we have 2 bottles of mustard, ketchup, apricot jam , and 3 bottles of mayonnaise…I made sure everything had a home and then got out my trusty labeler so that my husband could make sure everything got back into its designated spot.

See my cute labels...hope they work

By this time the dog was groomed and I went to pick him up…boy did he look different….his harness was huge and he looked like he lost 40lbs….maybe this will cut down on the fur in the house….I brought him home and packed my bag to head to the pool…
Nate after his trim...he looks sickly :(

Working on one of my major goals for this summer….my tan…spent a couple of hours by my lonesome at the pool….that is right it was deserted….read magazines….trying to go through our huge basket of magazines, pull out the stuff I want, and recycle the rest…and I did some running in the pool like the orthopedist suggested at my last appointment to help with the tendonitis in my IT Band….and after 2 hours it was time to go home for lunch.

After lunch, I did some more laundry, took a shower, painted my toe-nails, watched a cheesy ABC  family movie with Hillary duff, an episode of Glee, started dinner and began to design my blog….the hubby came home, we ate dinner…sweet and sour chicken, with rice and peas (thanks dream dinners)…planned our menu and grocery list (my to do for tomorrow)…took a 2 mile walk at Harbins Park with Naters, and then got Brusters….Nate loves him some ice cream….just like me….now time to shower again, check out my blogs, and get to bed early…have to be at Berkmar High School tomorrow for some kind of test question training….and then off to tomorrow’s to do
